Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day

It's gonna be a gorgeous day today!  The Killdees or Killdeers or whatever you wanna call them, are up caterwauling  this morning......

And Beauregard is in a Josie state of mind, laying out in the sun, soaking it up!
Ats my boy!
Meanwhile, the horses are in a hungry state of mind.....
They think that they're gonna starve to death or somethin!
And Mick, well Mick's always happy!
Blazer and Sadie were off chasing wood bees again and I couldn't get any pics of them!

Full moon comin' up over the fishin' pond

The other night while we were fishing right at dark, this big ol moon came up over the pond....

And while the moon was coming up in the east, this was going on in the west....

Mama was the only one who caught anything, but I don't think Sadie was helping me any when she bailed off in the pond in front of me!Hahahaha

I......Don't......Like......You!

Hippie Chick and Blake got to fighting the other night when dad was mowing the horse trap on the tractor.  Now in the picture above, Hippie Chick reared back and kicked Blake and then in this:
Blake was bucking/trying to chase Hippie Chick.
Blake finally stopped chasing Hippie Chick and started chasing Boogie.  While that was going on, I took this picture of Hippie Chick:
Ain't she pretty?!
Then Boogie got insulted that dad didn't put a round bail in the hay ring when he moved it.....
She gets insulted easily!!Hahaha

Buffalo in the morning

You know that time in the morning when everything is so still that you can hear the birds way down along the creek?  When a low fog lays across the land and meadowlarks sing?  Yesterday morning was like this.  I woke up early do to our mockin' bird singing right be my window, and saw that the buffalo were out by the fence, so I went out to take pics.  This was the first pic I took:
And this.....

I went out to the fence where all the buffalo were and took these:

Blake:"You wanna piece of me?" Buffalo: "No, I wanna lick your nose!"
This has got to be the scruffiest buffalo I've ever seen!

To Kill a Wood Bee

Last night while dad was grilling out on the porch, me, little britches and our dog pack attacked the wood bees that come every summer.  With little britches manning a tennis racket and Sadie being the kill dog when little britches knocked one down, me and Blazer teamed up.  Mean while, Mick lays under the porch swing, he's too sophisticated for this stuff! ;-)  Little Britches swings, and clips the bee, knocking it to the ground long enough for Sadie to attack it, biting and shaking it. Sadie almost secedes in killing it until she throws it out of her mouth and sends it flying across the yard and takes off chasing it.   Me and Blazer set on the porch steps enjoying the sight of a 6 year old country girl and a 4 month old hound chase a wood bee around the yard. Then a wood bee hits me in the back of the head and Blazer and Mick come to my rescue!  I hit the bee, and all of the dogs attack the almost dead bee. Sadie, thinking that  the bee went in the flower pot with my  half dead geraniums in it, bites my poor flowers.  Finally, all the dogs located the bee and proceed to fight over the bee until the only thing left of the bee is one wing and a couple of legs!hahahaha

Cattle Egrets in the horse trap

Took these pictures the other day of a couple of Cattle Egrets in my horse trap.  This is the 3rd year that we've had one come in, but this is the first year that there has been two come in!

And they had fun pestering the buffalo too.....

Until one of them pecked the buffalo on the head, then the buffalo ran them off!
