A day out on the Prairie

A couple of days ago we went out in search of something to take pictures of.  And boy did we find some!
First we saw a herd of buffalo, with lots and lots of babies....

On down the road we found lots of wild flowers....

And we found some big bull buffaloes coming up out of the creek bottom......

And a Plover that was running around out in the middle of the bulls....

Heading down the the creek....(yes, I took pictures of EVERYTHING!!)

We saw a Mountain Boomer by the road......

On down to the creek we went.....

And on the way home, we saw deer way off in the distance....

And even some wild turkeys....

It was a very, very fun day!!!

Prairie Iris

Went out the other day looking for something to take pictures of, and found this......

So, what did I do when I saw these?  I bailed out and started taking pictures of course!!!

Spring has Sprung!

Spring has sprung big time on the prairie!

Just look at how the trees are budding out.....

I don't have any idea what the trees are with the white flowers on them, but they're sure pretty!

And the Red Buds along the creek....

 Now, how 'bout a closer look at 'em....

Nope that ain't close enough....

 Well, we're getting closer!

Gettin' better all the time...

Now then, that's much better!

And the Red Buds and all the other trees are blooming/budding out all up,

and down the creek!

7 Signs of Spring

Yesterday I went out and planted the first flowers of 2010. 

Spring is really starting to show itself around here!  

Here's the 1st sign of Spring....

See the green grass?  The horses LOVE it! ;)

The 2nd sign....

All of the trees in the yard are starting to bud out.

3rd sign....

All kinds of pretty little flowers are blooming across the yard...

And my favorite....

The 4th sign of Spring.....

Planting flowers!

I LOVE the smell of these!

All the bushes are starting to bloom/get green...

Fire and Smoke!

And the 7th sign of Spring is something that I can't take a picture of, it's the WIND! But I promise ya, it's there!
