What was I*UP* to yesterday?

Good Morning, Good Morning!  It's extremely cold and foggy outside this morning, so that pretty much blew my plans of going out to take pictures of my horses!  But I do have some pictures to share from our little weekly trip to the woods yesterday.  While mama and Little Britches and my aunt were poking around in the woods, I found me and good spot to play look-out.
So let us see some pictures that I took while I was being the "Indian Scout"(as my auntie called me!)

Down to my right, I can see.....
My ol trusty .22-250 Rifle!
And off to left I can see....
A un-known creek bottom that is perfect for deer hunting!
And when I look straight down I see....
My beautiful Twisted X Boots!
So where was I at?
I was....
Up a Tree!!

But where is my look-out spot?  'Fraid I can't tell ya'll that!  It's on some un-known bend on my creek!  And in my daddy's words, it would be a extremely good place to hide from Indians!hahaha

Cowgirl Couture~~Part 1 Wild Rags

Howdy folks!  Remember back a little while ago(Nov. 17th to be exact) when I said I had a little project going? Well tonight I am "launching" Cowgirl Couture!  It'll be sort of a little cowgirl fashion thing-y.  Mostly just the stuff that I wear everyday(boots, wild rags, hats, ect.).  So here we go!:)

                                              Wild Rags

Who of you know what a "Wild Rag" is?  Well unless you're familiar with western/cowboy attire(ha...haha....I like using fancy words like that!), you probably think I've lost my mind and I'm making up words.  But I promise, Wild Rags are real!  Look here, these are wild rags(or "silk scarfs" or "bandannas' or whatever you want to call 'em) :

Ha, I told you they were real!
Let's have a closer look at my wild rag collection.....
My favorite one is in this pic., it's the light brownish tan one (between the blue and dark brown one), I wear it almost everyday.

Ahh the bright ones!

The sizes of them ranges from 26x26 up to 33x33.  And they're sooooo warm in the winter!  The way I wear them is fold them into a triangle and wrap them around my neck once then slide a "scarf slide" on them so they'll stay on.  My favorite scarf slide is the deer horn one that my dad made for me that has my brand on it...

See the "tails" of the wild rag run through the hole in the slide and when pulled through, it holds the scarf on....

And not only do I use my deer horn slide, I use those big, blingy rings as slides!  Look...

They make PREFECT scarf slides!  Here's a few pictures of how I wear them on my wild rags:

(You can't really see the ring in this one!)

So I guess that's the end of the first every "Cowgirl Couture" post!  I'm going to try and post a CC(Cowgirl Couture) Post every Monday night.  I have no idea what next week's post will be about, but I'm sure I'll find something!;)
Oh and don't forget, next Saturday(Jan. 1st), I'm going to launch "Josie's Daily Snapshot"!  So everyday I'll be posting a picture of something!

Thanks for takin time to read this post!:)

Josie's baaaack!

Did you miss me?  Well of course you did!  Oh wait, you didn't miss me?  Darn.....Ok, whatever, anyway I'm back!
Do to deer hunting, Christmas shopping, nothing to take pictures of when it's 30* below zero(Not really), Christmas celebrations and all that good stuff, I haven't had much time to post on here.  But now that the whole holiday hub-bub is over with, I promise that I'll try to post more!
At the moment I'm working on a project to post on here, it's gonna be awesome!;)
So anyways, hope all of my followers had a great Christmas!  I'll be back later with some new pictures, so get ready!!

"Blamin' all of my roots, I showed up in boots"*New boots + Announcement*

Looky what came in the mail yesterday....

A brand spankin' new pair of Twisted X boots, just for me!:)
The tops are 17" tall, and with me being only 5'5, they come clear up to my knees!
 I L-O-V-E them!

As for the Announcement, I am announcing that I have an announcement......hang on that doesn't sound right. Let's try it again, I'm announcing that I have a couple new projects that I'm going to start doing here on the blog.
#1 will be sort of a "Cowgirl Couture"(so to speak), but that's still in the works, so it'll be another couple weeks before I launch it.

#2 is "My Daily Snapshot".  My whole big plan for that is to post a picture, everyday.  I'll start that on Jan. 1st 2011.

So there's the big Announcements!  I think "announcement" is my new favorite word, annooouuuuncement, oh I have a annoooouuu---ok I'll stop.
Hahahaha!

Have a great Wednesday everyone!:)

The Great Escape

So back in the summer, dad started building a new horse trap fence for my sweet ponies.
We(Yes I helped.) built this fence:

North of the drive way, probably 200(give or take a few) yards, from this fence:
That is on the verge of falling completely down.   Dad is gong to pull it out, after the buffalo working.

We finally got everything wielded up, well dad did.  I was on "fire duty", its a very important job ya see, I have to make sure none of the sparks from the wielding rod didn't catch the dry grass on fire.  And I didn't let that happen, I whooped and beat flames, sparks and anything that resembled fire.  It makes me feel special  to get to weld a shovel and beat the ground, though people do look at me kinda funny when they go down the road and see me doing my fire-puter-outer-job.  They just don't get it!
ANYWAYS,
Last night, he cut 2 sections(One on the west end of the fence and one on the east.  Again I was the special fire-puter-outer!haha) out so we could turn the horses out into the brand spankin' new horse trap.  Bo Bo the Donkey was the first one to run out, while I was hot-footing it to the house to get my camera.
Here he goes down the driveway.....

And here he comes back up it....

And this is where he does his little "trot-hop-skip-kick" dance and he throws his head into the air.....

I think he think's that he makes him ran faster when he slings his head.

Go Bo, Go!!!

Meanwhile, Blakey Poo is getting trying to get kicked into high gear and is flying trying to run fast down the driveway....

And he finally brakes out of a trot and into his "Wild Mustang" run

Dun dun duh dunt dun duuuuuuuh, CHARGE!

He had to make sure the grass was safe to eat.
Seeings how he hasn't stopped eating since
we turned them out, I'd say its ok.

But this while the boys were running laps around their new ground, Boogie is bum-fuzzled, she can't figure out how to get out of the old horse trap.  The whole go-through-the-hole-in-the-fence thing blew her mind.

So Blake went back into the old horse trap and tried to get her out....

But that didn't work, so he went back out with Bo and ran some more.

......And around the pond they come!

Boogie's still dumb-stumped at this point, about how she has to go THROUGH the 8 foot hole in the fence to get out.  So dad and Little Britches get on the 4-wheeler and very gently push her towards the hole in the east end of the fence.  That doesn't work, so they go to the west end, Boogie gets insulted and heads for the barn at a dead run.
Dad and Little Britches head after her and pen her up in the lot...
Dad puts a halter on her and then leads her down to the hole, and out into the new horse trap.
And they all lived Happily Ever After.

Until
Bo got on the pond dam where the green grass was and Boogie saw him...

She's so moody!

Now, see Blakey Poo's wet sides?  He had to go for a swim in the pond, it was about 55 degrees yesterday evening when I was taking these pictures.

That horse......he ain't all there.

And once again, they all lived Happily Ever After

The End!:)
